Friends of Madresfield School

As a parent or carer of a child at the school, you are warmly welcomed as a member of

The Friends of Madresfield School. 

The Friends aim is to organise events to raise vital additional funds for the school but also to provide inspiring, enriching and fun filled experiences for pupils and their families. 

There is a committee which is voted in annually. This consists of a Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Social Media Coordinator. The committee (along with the help of other parents) brainstorm, plan, organise and run several events throughout the year. All parents are welcome to attend the regular meetings which generally take place in school.

The committee appreciates all offers of help and support, whether that be a few minutes selling raffle tickets and sourcing prizes, baking a cake, running a stall at the Summer Fete, dressing up as an elf at our Winter Fayre or assisting with the organisation of a whole event. 

Some parents may not be able to attend every meeting but can offer help ‘behind the scenes’ offering a variety of services from auditing our accounts, gathering information to help with events/projects, helping to maintain our school gardens or counting bounces for a sponsored bounce-a-thon!

Please let us know if you can help in any way. Do not feel that too much will be asked of you; we work together as a team so that the workload can be balanced with our other life commitments.

Over the last couple of years, the Friends have organised the following events:

• A hot Christmas lunch for the pupils and staff
• Film nights for the whole School
• The Summer Party which included a BBQ, bar and a gazebo for the Year 6 Leavers
• The Summer Fete which included face painting, toy stall, plant stall, tombola and raffle
• The Christmas Fayre – with Santa’s Grotto, stalls and raffle
• Cake Sales and Ice Cream Fridays 

Money raised by the Friends from 2020-2023 has been put to great use in providing the School with:

• Contributions to school trips

• A new sofa for Robins Class as well as other toys and learning resources which were required
• Learning resources required for Class 1 and 3
• Easter gifts for all the children
• Year 6 Leavers hoodies
• An Online Safety Newsletter
• An outdoor learning area
• Outdoor sinks
• Theatre trips
• Curriculum resources
