Understanding the World

History is within the 'Understanding the World' area of learning in Reception. The focus is on beginning to understand the past through everyday experiences, stories and objects, rather than as a specific subject.

Children in Reception will learn to:

• Sequence events and pictures.
• Use language related to time
• Observe and ask question
• Talk about past and present events in their own lives and the lives of family members.
