The last Worcestershire West Physical Activity resource pack of the 2019/2020 academic year is now available on our website here. In this resource pack you will find 34 physical activities to keep your children active during the summer break and also a separate document with web links to 23 recommended physical activity at home online resource providers.

Malvern St James has organised a virtual Festival of Wellbeing in support of the mental health charity Mind. It takes place on 20th and 21st June. To find out more about the Programme of events and how to sign up click here.

The Canals and Rivers Trust has produced a fantastic set of Water Safety resources full of information, posters, video and games designed to actively engage children in learning about water safety. The Three Counties Show is hosting a free virtual event on its website from the 12-14 June 2020. There is a section dedicated to family fun and learning and they have launched a children's competition which includes classes for artwork, baking, video making and photography – details can be found here: https://www.royalthreecounties.co.uk/whats-on/family-fun-learning/family-fun-competition.

We have added a list here of the online services on offer from the Worcestershire Digital Library Service. These include a Lego Club, Minecraft Club, Coding and Computing Club, Summer Reading Challenge, Rhyme Time, Storytime at Home.

1st June 2020 Worcestershire Virtual School Games
On Monday 1st June the Worcestershire Virtual School Games Activity Village opens to all schools across Worcestershire. All participants will receive an e-certificate, and there will be prizes for the primary and secondary school with the highest number of entries. The Activity Village will be open for 4 weeks and will consist of a variety of virtual challenges. These virtual events will culminate in the Worcestershire Virtual School Games Week taking place between Monday 6th - Friday 10th July during which results will be announced and highlights shared.

Years 3 and 4 would have been going to Lifepath at Malvern Priory next month but unfortunately this has had to be cancelled. The Lifepath Team have developed all their resources into an online format for you to try at home - there's lots to choose from including all the songs and their words! Click here to access them.

With all school and group visits to their canals and rivers suspended, the Canal and Rivers Trust has moved from a face-to-face learning programme to a digital one and will be sharing activities that encourage children to watch, read, do, play and create as they learn about our canals and rivers from home – bringing the magic of our waterways to you! The Author Phil Clegg has been a teacher for over 20 years and, when not in the classroom, does a bit of writing. His latest book is for primary school aged children and written around the current situation parents and children find themselves in with all proceeds going to the NHS. It is an illustrated children’s ebook featuring global sporting superstars:

The Hay Festival is taking place on line this year, bringing authors straight from their house to yours from Monday 18 – Friday 22 May. Each day, from 8am onwards, you can see two primary (years 3-6) authors introduced by Konnie Huq and two secondary (years 7-10) authors introduced by Jenny Valentine. These events will be available to watch again on Hay Player and you can access teaching materials to support learning before, during and after the festival.
STEM Learning have launched a selection of free curriculum-linked science lessons for pupils and parents to support home teaching. Click here to access the lessons.
WWF has a themed week with fun daily activities to help pupils connect with nature and learn more about our planet's frozen world. It includes live learning events via their new dedicated Facebook group (with recordings available on YouTube).

The Church of England has launched #FaithAtHome. It offers people of all ages and faith backgrounds a chance to pause, think and reflect, and to rebuild lost habits of prayer and faithful reflection in the home. The first videos can be accessed at www.churchofengland.org/faithathome
Yesterday saw the first assembly from the new Oak National Academy featuring The Archbishop of Canterbury talking about 'hope'. The video can be viewed here.

Book and Cook Family Activity Week Online starts Monday 11th May – Friday 15th May. 5 days of Family Fun online starts Monday 18th May – Friday 22nd May. iSingPOP have launched a brand new online resource as part of the Church Of England's #faithathome initiative.
They have written material especially relevant for now, tackling issues such as fear, loneliness and loss - but also hope, thankfulness and joy! Weekly episodes which will be available to view each Friday @ 11.30am on YouTube. The first episode is out now!
